Abnormal facial movements treated with soya oilemulsion: case report
A patient [age and sex not stated], who had undergone aradical prostatectomy, received a transversus abdominisplane block with 15mL of ropivacaine 0.75% on each side.Small IM injections were also made, using a total of < 5mL.Within the first minutes of regaining consciousness, thepatient developed abnormal facial movements [time fromadministration to reaction onset not clearly stated]. Aninjection of soya oil emulsion [Medialipide] 100mL wasinitiated for a probable diagnosis of incipient toxicity.Within the following 60–90 seconds, a reduction insymptoms was observed.Benhamou D, et al.
