Obeisances to Lord Krishna the Godhead

Chapter 2. The Lord in the Heart

    SB 2.2.1

Sri Suka said, Lord Brahm, prior to the manifestation of the cosmos,

regained his memory, by meditating on the virat form, the Man-Universe

by appeasing the Absolute, as it was before, re-created the universe.

    SB 2.2.2

Mystic sound is the way to absolute but making intelligenceponder on meaningless sounds the bound, conditioned souls

hover in dreams of such heavenly illusory ,vacous pleasures, but actually they do not relish any happiness in such places.

    SB 2.2.3

So the enlightened should endeavor only for the bare necessities for living

while in the world of name-forms, of firm resolve and never endeavoringfor ephemeral, being adept to see that that all such vain acts lead to nothing

    SB 2.2.4

Who needs a bed, when a yogi can lie on the groundswhat is the need of a pillow when he has hi's arms

why use spoons if one can eat well with one's hands

and with the cover of trees, what use is for clothings?

    SB 2.2.5

Are there not rags lying in the street for the needy to wear ?Is there a stoppage of giving in charity or, dont the trees offer

their shades for others ?or has anything dried up all the rivers ?are the caves closed? Has the Lord given up protecting souls ?

Why would the learned man speak to those reeking of affluence ?

    SB 2.2.6

    Unto the Absolute situated in ones own heart Thus, one must render service selfless;

Almighty , eternal and unlimited, He is the ultimate goal of life of all in the universe, and by worshiping Him one can end the cause of this conditioned state of existence.

    SB 2.2.7

Only the gross materialists will neglect such transcendental meditation

n take to the impermanent names only n seeing the mass of people fallenin the river of suffering as accruing as the result of works of their own?

    SB 2.2.8

Others see Him residing in the region of their heart, measuring only a span,Four-armed, with, a conch shell ,wheel ,mace and a lotus flower in plan

    SB 2.2.9

Loving face, lotus eyes , He wears yellowish silken costume resemblingkadamba, the pin cushion flowers, bedecked with jewels in gold shining

studded with precious stones n gems, headdress and earrings all aglowing

    SB 2.2.10

His feet are positioned on the whorl of the lotus hearts of the great mystics; On His chest He wears the beautifully engraved Kaustubha jewel, artistic ,n around His neck He wears a fresh flower garland as beauty , simplistic.

    SB 2.2.11

With a decorative sash around His waist, eclectic finger rings, tinkling anklets, bangles, oiled spotless bluish, hair curlingand His beautiful, smiling face He looks gorgeously glowing.

    SB 2.2.12

His divine pastimes and glowing glances with arching eyebrowsare indicative of Lords extensive benedictions to dear devoteesone should focus upon it for the purpose of one's meditations.

    SB 2.2.13

One should meditate upon the limbs one by one, starting from the feet upwards, until one sees His smiling face, gradually taking control of the mind one departsin one's meditation for higher and higher spheres and purifies the intelligence.

    SB 2.2.14

Till they have vision of the abstract Absolute, should the devotees

meditate Lords virat form at the end of their prescribed duties.

    SB 2.2.15

Whenever one desires to give up one's body oh King, as a sage, one should, being undisturbed, comfortably seated and with one's thinking unperturbedby time or place, controlling breath , then, senses with the help of the mind.

    SB 2.2.16

(16)Regulating the mind by the power of one's pure intelligence in relation to the original witnesswithin [the 'knower of the field'], one should merge with this self. That self should be confined to

the fully satisfied Supersoul and thus putting an end to all activities, one will attain full bliss.

    SB 2.2.17

Thereafter, the yog should merge his mind into the soul, by his pure intelligencethen merge the soul into the Supersoul, and by doing this, the fulfilled soul becomes

situated in the supreme stage of satisfaction, so that it ceases from all other activities.

    SB 2.2.18

Knowing what and what not relates to the Absolute, pure devoteesavoid the godless, completely giving up the perplexities , and place

at every stage, His worshippable lotus feet in their heart always

    SB 2.2.19

One should be well poised for absolute realization ,by the insight spiritual

and extinguish all material desires, One should then give up the material

body by blocking the air passage at the coccyx strongly with ones heeland lifting from one level to next in the six primary levels ,the air Vital.

    SB 2.2.20

The meditative devotee should slowly push it up from the navelto the heart, to the chest, and from there to the region , palatal.

He should thus deftly find place for apt stationing of air-vital.

    SB 2.2.21

Thereafter the yogi should push the air up between the brows of eyes,

and then, blocking the seven outlets of the life air, he should maintainhis aim for going back home, to Godhead, if he is completely unstained

from all desires for material enjoyment, he should then reach the parietal

pore and give up his material connections, having thus gone to God of all.

    SB 2.2.22

If one, however, maintains a desire oh King, to lord over the skies,or to lord the world of the gunas using the eight mystic powersones mind has to take the senses associated with such desires.

    SB 2.2.23

Great sages, above the realm of the material bodies, into three worldsfreely move in and out, while the gross humans never attain such heights

of freedom as the worships by such sages are absorbed in yoga always.

    SB 2.2.24

O King, when such a mystic passes over the outer space by the illuminating Suumna

to reach the highest spiritual realm, Brahmaloka, he goes to the region of Vaisvanarathe deity of fire, wherein he becomes spiritually cleansed, and then off to Simsumra

higher, to relate with Lord Hari, to prepare for the passages awaiting him so clearer

    SB 2.2.25

Sisumara is the pivot for the universe, and it is called the Visnus navel

The yog alone goes beyond this circle of Sisumara to Maharloka whorl

where pure ones enjoy a of life of four billion solar years in this world

and for saints who are self realized this plane is highly worshippable

    SB 2.2.26

Thereupon during dissolution , from the serpentine bed of Ananta, the time-bedof Vishnu he sees fully how the universe is burning to ashes by the fire ,hot-redoff Anantas mouth, and leave that plane for Lord Brahma devas supreme abode

for twoparardhas of fifteen trillion years and is the home of the souls purified

    SB 2.2.27

There is no sadness, nor death, nor old age,nor painNor anxieties except for sympathies and compassionFor those suffering from miseries in the lower planes

for lack of understanding of worship in Lords devotion.

    SB 2.2.28

Thereafter particularly; by its abilities ,the pure self then removesthe panch bhootha sheaths of water and fire and by self, reaches

the effulgent atmosphere where in due course of time he sheds

the sheaths of air that of the aether and then the real form he begets

    SB 2.2.29

In the process yogi surpasses the subtle objects of different senses

like aroma by smelling, the palate by tasting, vision by seeing forms, touch by contacting, the vibrations of the ear by ethereal associations,

and sense organs by material activities all cause of future birth cycles

    SB 2.2.30

Yogi thus passes the gross and the subtle ,and neutralizes

the mental plane ,and in the mode of divine goodness

he gets set to surpass ego progressively with the nascent

knowledge of progress along ,having material modescompletely suspended progresses perfect wisdom, towards.

    SB 2.2.31

By that self purification for attaining the Supersoul the person attains the peace, satisfaction and natural delight of being freed from all worldly contaminations.

He who attains to this destination of devotion for sure never again becomes

attracted to this mundane , material world my dearest Parkshit, King of devotees

    SB 2.2.32

Alll that I described to you oh King, is in accord with the Vedas. It is also in full agreement with the eternal truth as before it was told

by Lord Vishnu to devout Lord Brahm the god of creations

    SB 2.2.33

For those wandering in the material universe, there is no means

of deliverance than by the devotional service of Lord Krishnas.

    SB 2.2.34

The great sage Vyasa studied the Vedas three times in total religiosity and with scholarlyattention, he asssured that one's mind is properly fixed when one is attracted to spirituality

    SB 2.2.35

Lord Krishna can be perceived in all living beings as their natural souls, and by intelligence , is inferable by all, from different signs and effects.

    SB 2.2.36

Therefore oh King, every soul must, wherever he is and whenever he exists, hear about, glorify and remember the Lord, the Absolute Lord of the universe.

    SB 2.2.37

They who, filling their ears with the narrations about the Lord Krishna, Supreme, most dear to the devotees, drink from the nectar will find their by material pastimesand stains of mind purified returning to the lotus feet of the Lord, in bliss sublime.
