EXPORT HOUSE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Export house developmentthe factoring of the lifetime of an export house into two stages(1) export house development(2) systems operation and maintenance
Export house development methodologyA standardized development process that defines a set of activities that export house developersand project managers use to develop and continuously improve export house profits.
1. Recognition of needone must know what the problem is before it can be solved. basis for a export house is recognition of a need for improving an information system or aprocedure.
this need leads to a preliminary survey or initial investigation.
Owners first task is to prepare a statement specifying the scope and objective of the problem.
And then prepare the proposal review of the proposal.
2. Feasibility studydepending on the results of the initial investigation, the survey is expanded to a more detailedfeasibility study.it is a test of a system proposal according to its workability, impact on the organization, abilityto meet user needs, and effective use of resources.
It focuses on two major questions:_ what are the owners needs and how does a export house meet them._ what resources are available for a given export house. Is the problem worth solving?
Feasibility checkpoints
a. scope definitionfeasibility is a measure of the urgency of the problem and the first-cut estimate of developmentcosts.
b. Problem analysisafter a more detailed study and problem analysis of the current system, owner has to make betterestimates of development costs and benefits of the new system.
c. Decision analysisalternative decisions are defined in terms of their input/output methods, storage methods, computer machine/manpower requirements, processing methods, and people implications.
Five tests for feasibility
a. Operational feasibilitya measure of how well a solution will work or be accepted in anorganization.
b. Usability analysisa test of the systems user resources.c. Technical feasibility a measure of the practicality of a technical solution and the
availability of technical resources and expertise.d. Schedule feasibilitya measure of how reasonable the project timetable is.

e. Economic feasibilitya measure of the cost-effectiveness of a project or solution.Establish phases and activities -
a. Overlap of export house development phases.b. Costs for proposed export house.
The result of feasibility study is a request proposal document. It summarizes what is known andwhat is going to be done.
3. The request proposalThe request proposalA report or presentation of a recommended project solution.usually formal written report or oral presentation.intended for system owners and users.
a. Primary elements present the actual information that the report is intended to convey.b. Secondary elements package the report so the reader can easily identify the report andits primary elements.
In this project we set up an industry EGO Exports Pvt. Ltd. A work-wear producing industrywith exports to the European Union[EU].

SCOPE STUDY.
Studies conclude that Indian exports to the EU are, on the whole, export competitive. Sector-wise analysis of the export performance of Indian textile and clothing sectors to EU reveal thatinsofar as apparel exports are concerned, quota had indeed been a constraint for most of cotton
apparels and made-ups that India exported to these two markets.Indian clothing sectors have a tremendous potential, only a portion of which has been exploiteddue to policy constraints. And where exploited, Indian entrepreneurs have done the countryproud.
Very much in consonance with what has been noted on EU import trends, it is clear that EUsimports of made-ups and garments is noticeable. EU import of all other garment categories havegrown quite appreciably in value terms. Woven shirts is a category that became a winner sincethe quotas were lifted.India is a high-ranking exporter to EU of made-ups and garrments. Export of Indian fabric to EUin future is likely to pick up substantially. Made-up exports to EU are a very big opportunity for
India. The business of industrial clothing has great potential in the export as well as in the local market. The sub sector of industrial clothing/professional clothing/work wear is an attractive investmentopportunity as the imports of professional clothing have been strongly increasing during therecent years. Total world import of work wear in 2004 stood at US $ 4.56 billion. Annual growthin world imports on YoY basis was 8.63% and wrt 2000 19.22%. These figures show a vibrantopportunity in international market.Following are some of the factors on the basis of which this project becomes an attractiveinvestment opportunity.
Decrease in domestic production of European countries. An increased awareness of safety on the work floor, simulated by the
governments. Work wear/safety clothing is strongly recommended under thistheme.
Diversification towards high tech industries.Removal of quotas on textiles.
In spite of having a very strong textile base and huge market, work wear segment could not bedeveloped effectively by our apparel industry during the past years. This is because that theconcept of the work wear is relatively new in the international as well as in the local markets ascompared to the traditional woven and knit-based garments. There is also a lack of awarenessabout this sub-sector of clothing in our country.
Potential ConsumersThe potential consumers of work wear products are industrial workers in foreign and domesticmarkets, who are engaged in large scale and medium scale industries. The potential industries forwork wear are heavy process industry, light industry, hotel sector, retail sector and publicutilities. In most of industries, one person uses about three sets of industrial clothingper year.
