Draft Indian Standard
Guide for Acceptance and Maintenance of Natural Ester Fluids in Transformers Last date of receipt of comments is: 19-02-2017 Fluids for Electrotechnical Applications Sectional Committee ETD 03 NATIONAL FOREWORD This draft Indian Standard which is identical with IEEE Std. C57.147 : 2008 'Guide for Acceptance and Maintenance of Natural Ester Fluids in Transformers ' issued by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will be adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Fluids for Electrotechnical Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council. The text of IEEE Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminology and conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
In this adopted standard, reference appears to the following International Standards for which Indian Standards also exist. The corresponding Indian Standards, and documents under print which are to be substituted in their places, are listed below along with their degree of equivalence for the editions indicated:
International Standard Corresponding Indian Standard Degree of Equivalence
ASTM D971 Standard Test Method for Interfacial Tension of Oil Against Water by the Ring Method
IS 6104 : 1971 Method of test for interfacial tension of oil against water by the ring method
Technically Equivalent
ASTM D1169 Standard Test Method for Specific Resistance (Resistivity) of Electrical Insulating Liquids
IS 6103 : 1971 Method of test for specific resistance ( resistivity ) of electrical insulating liquids
